Wow!

We just wanted to take a minute to express gratitude to all of those who have taken interest in our story. Ultimately, this is just an outlet to express our feelings, it won't affect the outcome of this whole ordeal, but we can't begin to describe what an impact this has had. We have heard many other stories similar to ours and if we can help someone in the future not have to experience what we have gone through then our blog served it's purpose. After the ruling, either pro us or not, ultimately we WILL be lobbying to change the adoption laws in Utah. That is where we need your help. We have had an enormous amount of support, where our blog has spread to many different websites and we have had an out pour of support in favor of getting Jack back.

THE FACTS:
  • We have had over 10,000 views in 7 months
  • We have had signatures on the petition in 18 different states and 2 other countries (PLEASE SIGN IF YOU HAVEN'T)
  • We have been on discussion on babycenter.com, cougaruteforum.com, bargainhuntingmamas.com, adultadoptees.com, sltrib.com
  • We have been viewed in 14 different countries
Again, thank you so much for your continued support. We hope to post great news next Tuesday about our sweet little baby jack!

Also, please watch Dateline on August 19th, to hear John Wyatt's story and how the adoption laws in Utah have kept him from having his daughter with him.

WE LOVE YOU JACKSON!

  1. The Wyatt case is so sad, I don't understand how the adopters can live with themselves when they knew all along.

Living in Utah as you do, I hope you are able to do something more to help change the laws there. Good luck in court this week hope your baby is with you soon!

  2. Jake-

I want to commend you on your positive attitude and kindness toward everyone in the situation. I am a prospective adoptive parent who recently had to relinquish a child that we had in our custody for over a year. We intended to return him as soon as we learned of the birthfather but due to some actions of his, the case was drug out for many months. Had he acted like you are we would have been able to return him immediately. I am impressed w/ your generosity and kindness toward the adoptive family. Often, others are too quick to judge. The general public does not know what they have been told by their agency... maybe you don't even know. I cannot imagine any person wanting to be involved in a contested adoption!

I wanted to let you know that your attitude shows what a strong character you have. It is refreshing to see. I am so very sorry that this happened to you. I pray that your son will be returned quickly.

    Peace be with you,
    S
